KLTV journalist Lane Luckie’s special series ‘Germany In Focus’ was again honored by the Texas Association of Broadcasters, alongside an award for the station’s morning newscast.
His live reporting from Germany last Fall was recognized as the winner of the Multimedia/ Digital Storytelling category the TV (Medium Markets) division for the 2024 Texas Broadcast News Awards. Lane’s contributions as a producer and anchor were also recognized as part of a team first place award for Morning/MidDay newscast in the same division.
“The Germany In Focus series delivered an immersive experience to audiences back in East Texas,” the award entry stated. “Daily live reports on KLTV’s newscasts explored a range of timely issues through creative storytelling. Each television broadcast report was complimented by in-depth digital content on the corresponding topic. This robust multimedia approach included original videos, still photography, social media posts, extended coverage on their OTT streaming channel, and original stories featured in a dedicated section of KLTV’s website and apps.”
The annual Texas Broadcast News Awards are sponsored by the Texas Association of Broadcasters, an Austin-based trade association representing the interests of Texas’ 1200+ free, over-the-air radio and television stations.
