Caring. Committed. Proud… not your usual “Action News” or “On Your Side” marketing slogan. I’ve recently made a move to KTRE-TV in Lufkin/Nacogdoches, Texas to be the 6 and 10 p.m. anchor and executive producer.

The slogan, which represents this station’s commitment to meaningful news coverage is known throughout the region. Over the years I’ve had the fortune of spending time in or working at several television stations.

I’ve always appreciated those operations that embrace a close-knit, family environment. Some stations fail to promote this unity, which is often reflected in the on-air product.

At KTRE, it’s obvious there’s no shortage of friendly faces. In the short time that I’ve been at the station, I can tell that the people who work here are committed to their community and take their jobs seriously.

I’ve been busy getting acclimated to life in East Texas, which has been surprisingly pleasant. I’m hoping to accomplish some big goals at KTRE and contributing to upholding the traditions of the East Texas News.
