German public broadcaster ZDF was kind enough to host our group of American journalists on multiple visits to their facilities in Berlin, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the national morning newscast Morgenmagazin.

Our group started the morning at the network’s Capital Studio in Berlin by joining the audience in mo:ma Cafe, an atrium outside the studio where guest interviews and musical performances are often held.

Later in the morning, we toured the studio, control room, and newsroom with ZDF host Mitri Sirin, who is also a RIAS fellow.

Anastacia performs an acoustic version of ‘I’m Outta Love’ from her album, Evolution. The American singer appeared on German public broadcaster ZDF’s Morgrenmagazin on September 28, 2017, entertaining the audience at the network’s Capital Studio in Berlin.

Lane Luckie, a news anchor and reporter for KLTV in Tyler, Texas, is traveling in Germany and Belgium as part of a fellowship with the RIAS Berlin Commission. The bi-national journalist exchange, which is a partnership with the Radio Television Digital News Foundation, was established in 1992 to promote understanding between the United States and Germany in the field of broadcasting.
